The Architecture of Control
Five projects. One consistent thread. The ev80 external venetian blind as an integral element of InForm’s architectural language.

At the heart of this architectural language is a consistent feature: the Evaya ev80 external venetian blind. Across some of InForm’s most celebrated projects, the ev80 has become more than a functional addition. It is an integral part of the facade design, offering dynamic solar control while reinforcing the horizontal rhythms that define the InForm aesthetic.
This editorial explores five defining projects from the InForm portfolio, each demonstrating how the integration of Evaya external shading systems elevates both the aesthetic and environmental performance of the modern home.
Cantilever House
A bold statement in steel and shade.
Located in Caulfield North, Cantilever House makes a dramatic statement from the street. The upper floor, wrapped in a bold overhanging steel screen, appears to float above the ground plane. Integrated seamlessly into this robust facade are the Evaya ev80 blinds — their crisp horizontal lines echoing the structural steelwork, reading as a continuous architectural texture when lowered.
Here, the blinds serve a dual purpose. Aesthetically, they complete the facade’s restrained monochromatic palette. Functionally, they intercept harsh solar radiation before it reaches the extensive glazing, while allowing the occupants to tilt the louvres to maintain privacy from the street without sacrificing natural light.

Camberwell 2
One facade. Two worlds.
Featured in The Local Project, Camberwell 2 is a masterclass in restraint. The monochromatic palette of dark linear screens and concrete formwork is brought to life by the play of light and shadow. At the rear of the property, a full-height installation of ev80 blinds overlooks the bright blue pool.
When lowered, the dark slats create a striking contrast against the deep blue sky, providing maximum solar control. When raised, the facade opens entirely, dissolving the boundary between inside and out. Inside, the lowered louvres cast precise, dynamic shadow patterns across the terrazzo floors — treating light as a living material.

Stucco House
Textural contrast, architectural precision
Stucco House is defined by its tactile materiality — rough-sawn timber, textured stucco render, and lush landscaping. Against these organic surfaces, the Evaya ev80 introduces a necessary element of mechanical precision. Set deep within the architectural reveals of the upper floor, the dark blinds provide a sharp, clean contrast to the textured render.
The integration is flawless; the blinds don’t appear as an afterthought, but as a deliberate architectural element that can be opened or closed at will, allowing the home to breathe and adapt to the changing seasons.

Malvern
Pavilion living, solar mastery
The Malvern project embraces a pavilion-style arrangement, where indoor and outdoor spaces flow into one another around a central pool and courtyard. The ev80 blinds are employed here to manage the intense western sun — stopping the heat load externally before it reaches the glass.
The horizontal louvres also provide a visual link between the different pavilions, tying the varied architectural forms together with a consistent functional detail. The result is a home that maintains thermal comfort without relying heavily on artificial cooling.

Northside
Rhythm, repetition, and the art of filtering light
Northside presents a highly structured, rhythmic facade to the street. The architecture relies on repetition and proportion, with deep recesses providing depth and shadow. The Evaya blinds sit perfectly within these recesses — when tilted, they filter the daylight, creating a soft, ambient glow within the interior spaces.
The blinds complete the architectural composition, providing the final layer of control in a highly disciplined design. The family within can adapt the home’s relationship with the street and the sun at any moment, without compromising the visual integrity of the facade.

A Shared Vision
The relationship between InForm and Evaya is built on a shared understanding: that true luxury in modern residential design is the ability to control your environment. By integrating the ev80 external venetian blinds into the very conception of these homes, InForm ensures that their architecture is not only visually striking but environmentally responsive.
It is a partnership that continues to set the standard for high-performance residential design in Australia. To learn more about the Evaya ev80, visit evaya.com.au
